Pe fondul pandemiei, cea mai prestigioasă seară de la Hollywood se desfăşoară în acest an într-o gară istorică din centrul oraşului Los Angeles, Union Station, la 25 aprilie, o dată neobişnuit de târzie pentru sezonul acestor premii cinematografice. Datorită unei nete îmbunătăţiri a situaţiei sanitare, permisă în special de creşterea numărului de vaccinări, California îşi accelerează în prezent reluarea activităţilor sale economice şi culturale. A 93-a ediţie a Oscarurilor va fi transmisă din gara Union Station şi din tradiţionala sală de la Dolby Theatre din inima Hollywoodului, unde spectacolele muzicale vor fi susţinute în direct. Seara premiilor Oscar va fi regizată pentru a şasea oară de Glenn Weiss, un renumit expert în acest gen de evenimente, alături de producătorul Steven Soderbergh, regizorul filmului ''Contagion''. ''Vrem ca în acest an Oscarurile să arate ca un film, nu ca un spectacol televizat'', au declarat producătorii.

(video) Un film nou în fiecare săptămână. Platforma depăşeşte în prezent, de departe, din punct de vedere al volumului, toate studiourile de la Hollywood. Platforma nu a comunicat datele de lansare decât în cazul a zece filme, toate programate între începutul lunii ianuarie şi jumătatea lunii martie. Împreună cu lista de filme, Netflix a prezentat şi un scurt videoclip care pune accent pe vedete, unde capete de afiş sunt Gal Gadot (Wonder Woman 1984), Dwayne „The Rock” Johnson (Fast & Furious sau „Jumanji”) şi Ryan Reynolds (Deadpool). Pe lângă aceste trei vedete, platforma oferă anul acesta producţii cu Regina King, Adrien Brody, Meryl Streep, Sandra Bullock, Octavia Spencer, Jeremy Irons, dar şi cu Leonardo DiCaprio sau Jennifer Lawrence, cu toţii premiaţi cu Oscar.
